The double Z's!!

What a great time we had with Zechariah and Zilliah (Kiara and Kasim's twin sisters)! They were rambunctious kids and kept us on our toes but they sure did bring in so much laughter and love into this house!  We wish the situation was better for them and will continue to pray but we believe that being a constant source of love and support will help them in the long run! We did so many things with them while they were here; rollerskating,  movies, Zilker Tree, mall.....we hopefully created long lasting memories for all of them. I know Ray and I will not forget! We stayed in Austin for Christmas with my family and they too made this a great Christmas for the kids!

Taking them back to Corpus Christi a week and a half later was filled with mixed emotions.  Being separated from your siblings is not a pretty story. But it is what it is and for some reason it has happened this way! I have faith in God to leave my worries in his hands. In the meantime, we will continue and stay in touch with these absolutely, great sisters! THE DOUBLE Z's!

Kiara and Kasim's Sisters!

We picked up Zechariah and Zilliah (Kiara and Kasim's sisters) for Christmas!! We are soo excited! Of course we are going to spoil them! But also to show them what Love is and what family life is all about! I have tried my best to get these girl's out of their current situation but it's just not happening. We will continue to fight and pray and leave it up to the Lord above! But for now....this house is just pouring out love!! I will post pics soon!!

Homework!!

Need I say more?!?

Lately homework has been a little much and a little frustrating! Ray and I tag team so our patience can remain calm! He comes home with Math, Science, English and reading/journal homework! It takes Kasim a little longer to finish his homework than his sister. I do not let me stay up passed 9 trying to finish it. I tell him he needs his rest for the next day and to ask if he can have an extra day to finish it! I find myself talking to other parents to calm my nerves....is Kasim the only one who struggles?? Of Course not, but it can be a little overwhelming!  Those tricky Math problems...UGH!

I think the #1 thing I can do is build up his confidence! He is capable of anything and it is our job to find  different ways for him to learn. Thank goodness, Ray is great at Math!! And thank goodness for GOOGLE!! Cause I didnt know what a vertice was!! ha

9 Years of Marrying my husband!

9 blessed years of MARRYING Ray! Those of you who were at our wedding, do you remember those words? Father Bill said those words so passionately to all of us Marrying couples! When someone asks how long have you been married? It should be how long have you been marrying each other? Married is past tense, sounds as if we are done! That's it! BUT NO...we are marrying each other,....always working at improving our marriage, being a rock when your partner is down, understanding, supporting...I can go on and on. Today, Ray and I took the day off to just enjoy each other! I made breakfast for everyone and then we caught up on some TV shows. For lunch we enjoyed a nice meal at Texas Land and Cattle! It was so good! For dinner we went to the kids favorite DQ, they too are part of this marriage and wanted to treat them!

Oh, how these 9 years have been so good to Ray and I! And I am looking forward to where our journey leads.....How many years have you been marrying and what is the best marriage advice that you have?

God made everybody a somebody.

What a great day to write, in this case type, my first blog! I am one of the leaders at church for 4th grade girls. We discussed Uniqueness today- there are different kinds of gifts. But they are all given by the same spirit. 1 Corinthians 12:4 Much later, as I was singing at adult service I was thinking about my gifts and how I can be more of service to others. This quickly changed as soon as I thought of our kids and what great gifts they are to Ray and I! I truly believe they make Ray and I better people. Since that first day, Kiara came in our home and was surprised by how much food we had in our refrigerator to today by their unconditional love! They make us appreciate the small things. We are a small story in God's big plan:) Thank you God for choosing us!

After service I witnessed a number of amazing baptisms, and reflected on my baptism! Of course I do not remember this as I was a baby but was thinking how my parents were probably feeling. Thank you mom and dad for bringing Jesus Christ in my life from the very beginning. Because of you I have faith today therefore heard God's voice on our calling about adoption.

God made everyone a somebody, we all have a part in his BIG plan! We all carry a uniqueness! I pray to God that I continue in service in his name and we help our children find that gift within themselves.
